Toast's New 99 Cent Charge Direct to Consumers is a Dangerous Move

Toast recently announced that it will apply a 99 cent charge directly to consumers on restaurant bills of $10 or more. I don't think I've ever heard of a B2B software company getting between its customer (in this case restaurants) and the consumer. This is not a restaurant industry issue. Any company should start ensuring that their B2B software contracts explicitly prohibit the provider from applying charges directly to the consumer.
