The Covid-19 pandemic resulted in consumers booking directly with hotels because they felt that the information on their websites was more up to date, and that the cancellation policies would be more flexible.
In the restaurant industry, the pandemic sent consumers away from being direct customers to 3rd party intermediaries in droves. This is mostly because the restaurant industry had no need to have excellent websites and digital ordering user experiences until now.
